New Rs 250 Crore Manufacturing Facility in Jaipur Unveiled by Wipro Hydraulics

Wipro Hydraulics inaugurated its sixth manufacturing facility in Jaipur, Rajasthan, on Thursday, with an investment of approximately Rs 250 crore. The new plant was officially opened by Rajasthan Chief Minister Bhajan Lal Sharma, Wipro Enterprises Chairman Azim Premji, and Pratik Kumar, CEO of Wipro Infrastructure Engineering and Managing Director of Wipro Enterprises.

“This facility represents an investment of about Rs 250 crore and is expected to create around 400 jobs. We currently have the capacity to produce 1,000 hydraulic cylinders per day, and we’re fully equipped to double this capacity if demand increases,” said Kumar during a press briefing.

This new facility is Wipro’s sixth in India, complementing two units each in Chennai and Hindupur, as well as one in Bengaluru. The Jaipur plant will serve both domestic and international markets, focusing on the hydraulic cylinders and components manufacturing business of Wipro Infrastructure Engineering.

Kumar emphasized that the trained workforce and automation at the Jaipur facility will enhance product quality, productivity, and cost efficiency. “All machinery used here is made in India, and our assembly, manufacturing, testing, and packaging are 100% in-house,” he added.

The Jaipur facility, which began operations in May 2024, currently employs 166 staff. Kumar also highlighted Wipro Hydraulics’ strong global position, further bolstered by recent acquisitions of Mailhot, JARP, and Columbus, positioning the company among the top three in global hydraulics manufacturing.

Wipro Hydraulics specializes in designing and manufacturing custom-built hydraulic cylinders for various industries, including construction, earthmoving, material and cargo handling, forestry, agriculture, mining, and truck tipping solutions. It serves major OEMs like JCB, Tata Hitachi, Mahindra and Mahindra, Hyundai, Volvo, and Epiroc.

Sitaram Ganeshan, President of Wipro Hydraulics, expressed optimism about the growing demand for construction equipment, which has been increasing at over 20% annually for the past two years. “We anticipate that by 2030, India will become the second-largest construction equipment manufacturing industry,” he said.

With the addition of the Jaipur plant, Wipro Hydraulics now operates 16 facilities worldwide, including locations in India, Europe, the USA, and Brazil.
